ASB baking contest showcases revolutionary merchandise

Cornell Faculty, the Faculty of Massachusetts Amherst and Oregon State Faculty are the finalists for the American Society of Baking (ASB) annual Product Development Opponents, which helps meals science school college students showcase their revolutionary merchandise to enterprise specialists.

The winner shall be launched at BakingTech 2025, which shall be Feb. 15-18, 2025, in Orlando, Fla. Teams are competing for a share of the $20,000 scholarship prize pot. They could present their revolutionary merchandise on the precept stage on the current and put collectively samples of their entries for the judges.

The opponents, which is in its 11th 12 months, is sponsored by the Nationwide Honey Board, which challenged teams to develop a grab-and-go product that features honey as the primary sweetener. The entries embrace Cornell’s prOATS!, the Faculty of Massachusetts’ HoneyCrunch and Oregon State’s Yard Subject Cookies.

“The opponents gives a prestigious platform for these rising stars to engage instantly with enterprise leaders and showcase current ideas, creating ‘precise world’ product concepts that push the boundaries of baking science and know-how,” talked about Devanshu Mehta, opponents committee chair and a member of the profitable group in 2022.

The Product Development Opponents has awarded higher than $200,000 in scholarships. The 2025 finalists had been chosen by a panel that assessed proposals on product and course of descriptions, technical problem-solving, meals safety and shelf life.
